Our mum, Agi, has always been a fighter. She’s survived two heart attacks and life-saving surgery, but losing 85% of her left leg has left her permanently disabled. At this stage, her journey isn’t about recovery—it’s about receiving the ongoing care she needs to live with dignity, comfort, and as much independence as possible.
Since January 2025, we’ve used all our financial resources to care for her. Her support now costs us £2,000 every month, covering professional care, pain management, mobility assistance, and help with daily tasks.

Mum’s STORY

While she was visiting in Romania for Chirstmas holidays , our mum Agi had two heart attaks: one on the 26th of Dec 2024, and the other on the 28th of January 2025.
Because she was in a very fragile state, we could not fly her back to the UK and therfore she had to admitted into a private clininc in Bucharest called Spitalul Nord Pipera Bucuresti.
Agi, 73 years old, spent a month in the hospital undergoing the following:
Heart angioplasty surgery (4 stents)
Thoracentesis procedure ( a procedure that helps daining the liquid in the lungs because of pulmonary edema )
72 hours of dialysis
Hematoma removal surgery (left hand)
Left leg 85% amputation
Against all odds, she made it!
We covered the £34,000 hospital bill throug donations £15,037, used all our savings, and also took bank loan.
Now she is in the recovery stage.
She is out of hospital and me and my sister are taking turns monthly and fly back to Bucharest to care for her. I am not able to work for every month I am here and both me and my sister have kids and partners back home in the UK.
Because mum lost 85% of her left leg she urgently needs: physiotherapy, medications, wheelchair, bath chair, a prosthetic leg, on going care, and money for everyday nutrition and stay.
